Split personalities and Sage TV on the Mac

Ok, it seems that the Sage TV client is confused about his role. He reminds me of Sage TV Media center in that there is a service you can start. But he doesn't recognize one PC Sage TV server and the other PC server which he recognizes will only display the selected shows as a black screen. Are the clients and mediacenters for the mac the same product? Mac place shifter works with both servers just fine. Why isn't the client displaying anything. I have another product that uses ffmpeg. Is there a conflict there? The install seemed to go ok. Is there a fundamental incompatibility between the mac and PC versions?

Thanks

Did you ever get a response to your question?

I recently downloaded the Mac client to use on an iMac in my daughter's room with a Windows SageTV server in the living room... unfortunately, all I get is a black screen for playblack. Looking at the network activity, I noticed that nothing is being transfered.

I then installed it on my Mac Book Pro and it works fine. I haven't a clue as to what I did differently. Reinstalling on the iMac makes no difference, even when I go to the trouble of removing all the stuff littered in the /Library directory that was installed by Sage...
