MVP and USB-UIRT ?

Right now I've got the svga output from my PC going into a svga to composite convertor. This composite output then feeds a RF modulator and then feeds out via RG-6 coax to my tv's on chnl 80.

Am I correct that a wireless MVP will produce a sharper picture than this modulator setup ? The modulator's picture isn't bad at all but could be sharper.

And I have a USB-UIRT on the way and I definately want to use my JP1 urc 6131 remotes ( that I use for my TiVos, etc.) to control SageTV, can I use the MVP and the UIRT and not use the remote that comes with the MVP ?

TIA

Word of CAUTION!!!

Most folks have found that the WIRELESS MVP's do NOT work. I have a wireless MVP that I had to connect via hardwired.

The picture is quite decent after I switched tuners to NVidia's dual tuner card (I went through 2 PVR-500's, both were fuzzy/crappy).

I would think that the MVP setup would be better....less conversion going on.

The MVP does not use the USB-UIRT. The MVP is controlled via its own IR receiver, which only recognizes the RC5 IR protocol. You can program your JP1 remote to use RC5 codes, then teach those to SageTV while using the MVP, or simply program the remote to emulate the Hauppauge remote.

Right, I didn't think about that. Thanks Andy.
