HD 2400/2600 and Mpeg2
Now that the cards have been out for a while, can anybody tell me about their experiences with a radeon hd 2400 or 2600. Particularly, I am wondering if the full hardware decoding can be used with mpeg2 content (as opposed to just the "assisted" decoding that other cards offer).
If so, have you been able to get the full decoding working in sagetv? Are you tied to particular decoder to utilize it?

There are a few threads over @http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/forum...5&daysprune=30 on these new ATI cards. Sounds like the drivers still need worked out.

Video playback on the 2400/2600 is problematic right now. Some registry hacks are needed to get the UVD feature working.
While the 2400/2600 have integrated HDMI audio, it doesn't gain you anything over Toslink/RCA digital as it's 16-bit/48khz max.
