Mac Client Stuttering on Live TV...
I have a Intel Mac Mini with the new Sage Mac Client. 1.83 Core Duo, 2 gigs or ram. I run a gigabit network, video capture is at 3.0 gigs an hour at the server. I am getting some video stuttering on LIVE TV only.
I can hit pause for 2 seconds during playback to let the recorder get a couple seconds of recording ahead and it plays FLAWLESSLY.. Is my Athlon 2600+ (2.08ghz) with 512k running windows XP FAST enough to record AND stream at the same time??? Its a HVR1600 card in their now. I plan to put a placeshifter on the network and a media extender on my SDTV on the living room tv. Maybe another tuner. Am I going make that Athlon beg for mercy? Will adding another 512 or 1g or ram help the server? Thanks. Jeff |

I see the same behavior here occasionally. Pause it for a second and then the playback is smooth. I don't use a PC placeshifter, so I don't know if it's a Mac issue, or a Placeshifter issue.
