250 + 350 : Can't enable OSD
Howdy,
When I had a just a 350 I was able to get OSD to work. I added a 250 to this box couple months ago (same drivers), and now the option to enable OSD is no longer available in sage (e.g. box is greyed out )...Also can't get tv-out to work for WinTV. Both of these worked before I put in the 250. I'm pretty sure it's because of how I muttled throught the driver install for the 250 ( lots of errors trying to copy files on top of the files that were already there because of the 350 ALREADY being installed )...but recording w/ both has always worked fine. Two questions: 1) Are there any detailed instructions on how to install the 250 and a 350 (or even two 250s)? 2) If 1) doesn't fix it, any other clue on how I can remind my system that I can do OSD? Thanks! Last edited by jman; 12-20-2003 at 04:31 PM. |

You might want to read Clarification from Frey wanted concerning 350 and 250 issues .

I lost my video out on the 350 when I added a 250 as well. To fix I went into device manager and removed the 350. After I rebooted the new hardware wizard reloaded the 350 but I got a BSOD at the end of the driver install. Restarted again after the BSOD and my video out option in Sage came back.

My $0.02
Remove both cards from the system after uninstalling them in Device Manager. Put the 350 closest to the AGP slot. Then put the 250 one slot away from the 350. Windows, in my case, should detect the 250 first, then the 350. Install the same driver for each, the latest one from Hauppauge, which you can get from www.shspvr.com. After the driver is installed, install the applications off of the cd that came with your 350, make sure you uncheck the drivers in the setup screen. Then launch Sage, after a reboot I think, and you should be able to enable output. Let me know how that goes. mikejaner

Cool!!! That worked...kind-of...
I removed the 350 from hardware manager, rebooted, re-detected, and re-installed. ( 350 was already closest to AGP ) Now OSD is available, but when I enable it I get only sound and verticle "test bars" on my TV. BTW, I'm using composite output...I don't see any way to tell WinTV to use composite over S-Video, is this auto-detected? ( I assume I need to configure before I can expect sage to work properly ) --------------------------------------- When using WinTV2k I only get sound and test bars on "TV"..and on the computer "monitor" the upper half of screen has greenish/purple images, bottom half displays lots of static... Obviously this is a WinTV problem, but any pointers would be greatly appreciated!! |
