Nvidia 6600 HDTV virtual Desktop not wanted

when I try to get my resolution on the component connected Panny 47 HDTV up past 768x480 it goes into virtual desktop mode. i have power strip and I have tried to use the nvidia tools to change res to something better. i cant even fit the entire screen on the HDTV and have to adjust SageTV to fit what I have visible. im using the latest Nvidia Drivers 94x I think. and the original Nvidia control panel. can anyone point me in the right direction to get higher res on screen?

Thanks
Dave P

I don't use powerstrip and I don't use nView either. nVidia detected my 42" Panny and I have the rez set at 1280 x 720 with no issue. 6600GT and 94.24 drivers.

With my 7300GS I use component and there is an option under the tv settings to use "HDTV output" and it gives you the option to select 480i, 480P, 720P 1080i. I just clicked on 720P and away it went.

Yeah, sounds like you have a driver issue or something. Are you sure you have the component breakout cable connected well? What about the cable from the component breakout cable to the tv? Just throwing some ideas out there before you breakdown and redo Windows.

Are you guys running component only to the TV as your only display? Cause when I try to boot up with component only, I don't see anything at, not even POST. Or are you doing your settings on a separate monitor and running the TV as a second display? This is with a 8600GS, IIRC.
