6.2 lost a bunch of channels in the UK

6.1 found all the correct channels even the shared ones CBeebies/BBC3 etc but 6.2 has lost these and some others which maybe encrypted which is fine by me. But as the father of a 2 year old I can't loose CBeebies and as a Doctor Who fan I can loose BBC3.


Below is the channels found versus the the channels in the file -0-ATSC file which I presume was downloaded and is accurate.

As the formats are different I can't even cut and paste the good one into the bad one I need a beer before I spend ages merging the the two

Thoughts please...

I understand the issue as per your helpful info above, its just version 6.1 could deal with it, as well as my £20 DVB box so it cant be a problem technically, its the biggest thing that put me off GBPVR and shell out for SageTV (which is great BTW). It may be the shitty weather we are having at the moment degrading the signal but I doubt it as its the shared channels that are missing BBC3,BBC4,ITV4 etc

if the signal aint there it aint going to pick it up!
Thats my experiance anyway with DVB-T card and freeview boxes.

Either do another scan to pick the missing channels when they air or copy paste from your original frq file, eg.

I added a couple of the missing channels but they dont appear in the channels page, I assume there some binary duplicate of this info or something, I've restarted everything the sage tv service etc but no joy.

I assume if I rescan the channels after 7 pm I'll loose CBeebies and CBBC and gain BBC 3 and Four etc, without being able to add channels manually I'm a bit knackered and may have to revert back to 6.1 which is a shame as the new 7 day EPG releases me from XMLTV and all that fun.

I also noticed the crossbar on the volume display on the MVP is missing so you cant see the actual volume, it still works its just a the visual bit thats broken which I can live with

I got the prob with the volume bar too!

I use xmltv too, so if your Ch: equals the same number in your xmltv line up it should work.

I have to do this exact procedure later so i will tell you how/if i got bbc3 etc
and if i loose abc etc, altho im using xmltv

when you scan for available channels after 7, it should have a green DOT next to the channels that are found. it should still have your prev channels also eg cbeebies, but without the green dot. so all you have to do is reenable cbeebies and any other channels that have been lost.

this is what happens with xmltv anyway.

if that doesnt help you will have to do it through the frq file

That seemed to work, your right the previous channels CBeebies etc did not dissapear, I can live with that as a hack, I still think it should be possible for SageTV to do this though as my cheap and nasty DVB box has no problems detecting the channels not currently transmitting.

I'm pleased to dispense with XMLTV, 7 day EPG from the DVB stream is great , XMLTV is OK but a pain if anything changes such as new channels appearing or sage releasing new versions of software which is often and a good thing

also have sky and need the episode ids to match with the freeview ones!
