Newbie with some questions
Hi All
I just got Sage up and running a couple of nights ago and I must say, the HTPC market has come a loooong way. Great job guys. The picture quality is awsome, the menu is easy to figure out, The Directv control via serial cable has been flawless, and I have had very few problems getting it setup. I do have some questions now after have it up and running for a few days. 1 Last night I deleted a bunch of recordings from the Sage guide. These where all Sage intellegent recordings. I noticed after I deleted the recordings that the mpeg files where still on my drive. Shouldn't Sage have deleted these file? Can I just delete these files? 2 I went into the Sage recording schedule and deleted all upcoming intellegent recordings because I didn't like what Sage was going to record. Ever since I deleted all the upcoming recordings Sage has not refilled the recording schedule with new intellegent suggestions. Did I do something wrong? Thanks Chris |

I don't have definitive answers for either question, but I'll give it a shot in the dark.
On #1 my suspicion is that the file will be deleted when room needs to be made for it. Sage assumes that the space you have given it is its to play with, so it may not bother to delete files until it needs to do so? On #2, Sage may start intelligently finding shows to record once you start watching programs. Perhaps you've negated all of the things it thought you might like, and now its time to "show it" what you do like (by recording and watching some shows)? I'm sure someone with more accuracy or certainty will chime in soon enough. |
