Deleting Library Files
I have searched the forum, but I am unable to find out how to delete items showing up in my video library. Most of the items do not even exist on my computer anymore. How do I clean this up?
Thanks |

Are you sure they don't exist? I have seen a condition where I did not have any video libraries specified but file names still showed up in the video library. You should do a search to see if the files exist anywhere on your system. If they really don't exist they what happens if you try to view them with sage?
The following assumes the files do exist somewhere on your system: I don't think you can clean this up with Sage TV. You have to use the operating system file delete commands. If you have just watched a video using Sage that you want to delete, you should select another video, otherwise you may get an error message that the file is in use and cannot be deleted. to see if the files exist anyway on your system.

I have a bunch of these, and they do not exist on my system. The error I get when I try to view them is "There was a problem with the Shared Async Reader Filter: Failure loading file Errcode =0x80004005", which is the error you get when the file no longer exists, as far as I can tell.

Have you installed an old version of either the wiz.bin or wiz.bak file having since deleted these files? Sounds like a problem i had which was a result of this,

I had this occur once. Mine was because I changed my computer's network name. Sage stores the network name as part of the file path in the Wiz file. So if you change the network name Sage can't get to where it thinks the files are/aren't. The solution Jeff gave me was to rename my computer back to the old network name. Cleanup the library and then go back to my new network name.

What about an option to delete them even if they DO exist? I transfer files via FTP to my Sage server and it would be nice to be able to delete them after I watch them without having to leave Sage...
