Question Sage on Laptop?

Unfortunately, I don't really have space for a pc anywhere near my tv. And, I also happen to have a need for a laptop to serve as a "just in case" backup for my primary laptop. So, I'm considering trying to use the backup laptop to run Sage.

My questions are:

1. I only have a mic and headphone jack on my laptop, so how do I drive my amp or speakers? Does the WinTV-PVR-usb2 provide audio out? If not, is there a PCMCIA sound card that most people use?

2. If I only have USB1.1, I see that the capture rate is limited to 6Mb/sec. Is that sufficient to provide good picture quality?

Thanks in advance,

Dan

I use the WinTV-PVR-usb2 on my laptop and it works great. The usb2 handles the video/audio coming in and then your laptop needs to handle the playback of the video/sound coming out.

I currently just have the sound hooked up through the onboard headphone jack of the laptop. This works fine and if you need to connect it to a receiver/amp just get headphone to RCA converter cables to get the RCA connections.

I also only have USB 1.1 on my laptop and the quality is acceptable for most programs. The only time you may have a quality issue is for sports with high motion because of the bitrate limitation on USB 1.1
