What version of STV am I running?
Here's the background;
I installed SageMC, tried it out and removed it. I then reinstalled STV. Everything looked OK. Then I recorded 4 episodes of StarTrek Enterprise (back to back) From the SciFi Channel. Previously when I did this the recordings would apper in a folder named "StarTrek Enterpise" and I would have the option to 'play all' Now the recordings go into a folder named "SCIFI" and there is no option to play all. This happens with all recordings, they are placed in a folder with the channel name, not in a folder with the program name. The Question is: What version of SageTV (6.???) did I have and how do I tell which version I have now? I'm sorry if this question has been answered before, but I couldn't find an answer. TNX |

In SageMC, you can go to the settings screen. At the top of the right hand panel, it will tell you the versions of SageTV, Java, and SageMC you are running.
What do you mean by 'reinstalled STV'? Did you reload the SageTV3.xml file or did you completely reinstall SageTV? Aloha, Mike

You can go to the System Info screen to get the version number (Use Info on the Main Menu, or go to Setup -> Help -> System Info.)
But, you probably just changed the Group By option on the recordings menu. While on the SageTV Recordings menu of the default STV, use the Options command, then check the settings listed there. - Andy

MeInMaui:
I deleted the SageTV folder, reinstalled the latest version, then copied my backup over that. I know that was too anal but I wanted to make sure that all traces of my experiment were erased. BTW: SageMC looks nice but I just don't have the time right now to 'fine tune' for a setup, hence the removal. Opus4: You hit the nail on the head! The sad thing is I knew how to do that, but I'd convinced myself that I'd screwed and somehow got the versions messed up. What can I say, the human brain is a wondrous creation, and someday I've got to get one! Thanks for the fast response! Paul H |
