hauppauge remote problems

here is the deal,

I just picked up a hvr-1600 due to some recording conflicts I have for show I don't want to miss, plus the circuitcity deal for a 1600 after MIR is $70 seemed very appealing! every thing was going fine until I tried to use the remore. I have a Harmony emulating a Hauppauge remote, but after installing the 1600 neither remote works with Sage.

original config before the 1600 was a PVR-150 and a HVR-950, what I have done is remove the 1600 so I was back to original config, no go there. then add the 1600, remove the 150 and leave the 950, still no joy. I've uninstalled all Hauppauge software and reinstalled, done a reconfig via the wizard. still no go.

the only other thing I can think of is to uninstall the Hauppaue software and Sage and reinstall in hopes that will resolve the issue.

any ideas? I did read the thread about Hauppauge cards that have IR ports not playing well together. the 150 and 950 had no issues for over a year.

I did install the WinTV software to sample the cable to see if I was able to pick up any unencripted QAM channels off the cable, no go there at least in the Atlanta area. that has been removed!

everything else works very well, I just don't want to surf TV with the keyboard!

Is the 1600 an MCE kit, or did it come with a regular Hauppauge remote?

Do all the cards have the IR port? If so, have you tried plugging the IR receiver cable into each card to see if the IR software is trying to use a different card than the one you had it connected to previously?

the 1600 is not an MCE kit, it has the 45 button Hauppauge remote.

yes I tried both the 1600 and 150 IR ports, the 950 is USB and has no IR port

then tried:
removing the 1600 and had only the 150 and 950 installed, no luck
removed the 150 and installed the 1600, same no luck

I can push the :go" button on the haupauge remote and get the wintv ircontrol window to pop up. so it's seeing commands

If the remote is working, but just not in SageTV, then you probably reset irremote.ini when you installed the new tuner & now need to get SageTV support back in the ini file -- see this FAQ. Note that the irremote.ini files you can download are not exactly the same as if SageTV modified the ini file during installation. Most buttons are the same, but Stop might be TimeScroll instead of Stop.
