FLAC Music Player

I recently ripped my music CD collection into FLAC (http://flac.sourceforge.net). Can I get SageTV to see those files -- and play them? Can I get SageTV to act as a frontend to a third-party player?

I second that question... only regarding AAC and Apple's iTunes/Quicktime

I've asked this before with regards to WMA files. With the current version there is no way to do this. Instead I use myHTPC as a front end. I have a button labelled Watch TV in myHTPC that calls SageTV. Works great, but it does add a little extra complexityand requires the use of Girder to coordinate the remote control to work with 3 different programs (myHTPC, Sage, and ZoomPlayer for DVDs).

The upcoming 2.0 version may help with this, as least by allowing the launch of external programs.

FLAC would be great... so would mpc.. the BEST lossy audio format available.. having gapless playback for those formats that support it woul,d be pretty essential.. being able to work with replaygain information too would be great (this normalises the volume of tracks so that you can listen to 70s and late 90s without touching the volume) .. Foobar2000 is the best stand alone player and also is capable of encoding, and setting replaygain information amongst other tools..

To be honest i've yet to use SageTV's audio or DVD component yet.. I am definately wanting tv relevant fixes, upgrades first but i see that its all coming together to form a nice package... I would really need SSRC upsampling and ASIO playback or Kernel Streaming to even consider replacing foobar for my music playback as this helps a lot in reducing the music quality reduction caused by upsampling soundblaster type cards
