Why is this file transcoded?

I have an MPEG-1 file that Sage transcodes when playing back on my MVP. Here are the format details from the debug log:

format=MPEG1 1:00:31 1394 kbps [
#0 Video[MPEG1-Video 23.976025 fps 400x336 2075:1596 1150 kbps progressive]
#1 Audio[MP2 44100 Hz 2 channels 224 kbps idx=1 id=c0]
]

Why is this being transcoded? I thought these formats were supported by the MVP . . .

Thanks,
Lee

Send the info to SageTV. Maybe there is something about the format that needs transcoding or perhaps it just isn't noticing that it doesn't need to transcode that one.

Seems like an odd MPEG-1 resolution, maybe the MVP doesn't support that particular MPEG-1 format.

Thats what I was thinking, the size and framerate are kinda jacked.

Got a response from SageTV Support:

Currently it does transcode them, but we are looking into changing that in a future release.
Hmmm, not sure what to make of that. Seems to suggest they always transcode MPEG-1 files . . .
