How can I stop multiple recordings?

I'm using the XMLTV plugin to get Canadian listings.

I have a show that I want to tape every weekday at the same time. However, this show comes on at least 10 times a day on various channels from various timezones.

The problem is, if I add this show to my "favorites", Sage schedules 4-5 recordings of the show each day.

If I only tell Sage to record the single episode, then I miss the other 4 days of the week (not to mention next weeks airing)

Is there any way, when using the XMLTV plugin, to force Sage to only record this show once a day, at the time I want?

I would have thought this would be a simple thing to do, but apparently it's not.

Unless I'm mistaken, it's a priority to add VCR-like controls to a future version of SageTV to be able to do exactly what you want.

I don't believe it's possible now.
