Question Max Number of Capture Cards

I am building me a Sage system. I have a 2ghz Celeron system as my server and currently have 1 Hauppauge PVR-250 card in it. I was wondering from peoples experence, what is the max number of cards I should be able to use without having to setup a second slave system.

Thanks

Ken

Is that a hard limit or just a general rule?

Running basic cable, IE no cable box. i have run 5 PVR-250 at the same time, in the same box. With no issues.

At my old company we ran test in a 14 slot chassis. they had to re-right the BIOS on a SAGP-845, a P4 single board computer. the system ran all the cards with no issues. Hope this helps.

Yes, this answers my question. Right now I am planning to put three in, but it is nice to know I can go 4 or 5 in the future.
