Pause not working.

This is odd, but has been this way for a while now..

I am using a USB UIRT and a sony remote control. I have programmed they pause button to do just that..pause.

I press pause and the picture does pause, and all looks like it's working, but when I resume play, the video plays in fast forward (sound is at current un-paused time).

It's like the pause is freezing the picture and sound, but not the actual video itself. When I resume, the sound is at it's current position as if I didn't pause, and the video is running in FF until it catches up.

I did not find this in the forum under 'pause not working'

ANy ideas?

Do you have the latest video drivers? What decoder are you using?

My PC is 100% current with all upto date drivers for my ATI video as well as Windows XP OS.

I am using the SONIC CODEC I purchaced a few years back.

Maybe it's time for an upgrade there?

If it's that much of a problem and reproducable all the time I would suggest turning on logging and send it off to SageTV support. These forums are for user to user support only.

Does it do this when you use the on-screen controls? It sounds like more a software/codec problem than a remote problem. Do you have any over Mpeg2 decoders? You can a trial of Nvidia's codec and see if that helps.

Yes it appears to be a codec problem. I have Sonic Codecs I purchaced a few years back. I switched them to the default settings and the proble went away.

I reinstalled the codec, but now I can not even see the codec listed to try it. I only have the default and "SAGE" codecs available.

I now can not play DVD's from the IMPORTED files section, it gives me an error:

" There was a Playback error....Playback exception:ERROR(-1,0x0): There was a problem using DirectX........"

I downloaded and installed the newest DirectX (10 I believe) and it still does not work.
