As far as the mediaMVP goes- a number of people, myself included, had troubles with the MVP until changing to service mode. Since changing, I have not had any issues with the new build.

Wow I don't know how I missed this thread. I thought I was alone in the 6.1 wilderness

Upgrade to 6.1 has been a 3 month nightmare for me. Did not want to go back to my rock solid 6.0.19 because my wife/kids and I had months worth of recorded programs we have not gotten too. But the sluggishness, and, spinning wheel of death "among over things" was to much. The only thing I did not try was the debug log thingy to SageTV.
I'm a Doctor not a software debugger........Jim

I do miss playing back OTA digital programming over my MVP

I found that 6.1 started suddenly started deleting shows and pegging the CPU usage. Sage interfacing with my Streamzap remote was also affected. I would hit fast forward once and it would forward 2 to 3 times, very frustrating. I assume this was from the CPU being pegged, because Streamzap was only sensing one signal from the remote indicating that the remote was not sending 2 or 3 signals. Anyway I'm back to 6.0.19 and I lost the info on the previous recorded content which really sucks.

I've moved to 6.1.9 from 5.x in the past few weeks and it is very sluggish the spinning wheel thingy is there in the menus especially in the program guide. The mouse over takes an age (tens of seconds to catch up) all pretty unusable really.

BTW I do have the SageTV web interface running and that just flys along even when run on the same box as the Sage Server. I could say it was so good that if there was a better interface to run the shows then the SageTV UI could be dispensed with completely.

Add me to the list. Sage 6.1.9.135 - completely freezes as much as once a day. Sometimes I can ctrl-alt-del out of the UI, sometimes I have to completely reboot the machine. If I am able to ctrl-alt-del, I notice that SageTV.exe is pegging almost 100%. Even when I shut down the process manually, it can take as much as a minute *after the UI has shut down* for the process to clear out of the process manager and for the system to "unlock."

I do not have an MVP, and I have always run in service mode.

Can someone explain exactly what I would do to revert to 6.0.19 (what's this thing about backing up wiz.bin, etc.), and would I actually lose all of the recordings, or just not have the show info for each one in the Sage Recordings menu? I don't have many recordings we haven't watched right now, so this may be a good time to do it for me.

Also, will I need to re-setup all of my channels, STV/imports, media directories, etc?

One thing to try is setting this:

ui/disable_native_image_loader=true

We've had some reports from some users of that fixing the 100% CPU usage that would occur after they connected an MVP. We still haven't been able to reproduce this on our end yet. So if you have this problem (and especially if the above setting fixes it for you); and wouldn't mind giving us remote access into your system ; please contact support about it or submit a bug report.
