Scheduling favorites

I was wondering if there was a way to change how far in advance the favorites get added to the recording schedule? It seems to add them like 2-3 days in advance, but it would be nice if it would do like 2 weeks. Reason being is that at time I wond be home for long stretchs and recording conflicts may arise.

Do you have a lot of conflicts, if not don't worry, Sage is supposed to intelligently resolve those conflicts even if you don't tell it how, but I don't have much experience with that since I don't have many conflicts fortunately. Otherwise if you have a lot of conflicts the best solution is to get another card.

I guess I only have a few conflicts, but I guess I just want to make sure that it is scheduling the shows that I want. It seems that some channels do not give good first run/rerun info and I want to go through those shows and pick the ones that I want.

I'd like to see a list of the conflicts as well. I use DirecTV as my source, so it's not as simple as buying another card. And I have tons of conflicts.

Ideally, I'd love to see something like in the guide today, where it highlights the show its going to record, maybe have all shows (manually marked for record and favorites). That way, if I select show X to resolve the conflict, I could take a look later and be reminded of the show thats not being recorded.

But even a simple list would be great too. Maybe Studio will have it?

Also, my understanding is that each time you resolve a conflict, it gives the show you select a higher priority than the one you told it not to record. So the longer you run it the smarter it should get.

Thanks for the replys. I guess that I would like more control of the scheduling of favorites. Some channels give poor schedule info (i.e. MTV) and I would like to see the two weeks ahead at a time to choose which shows to record and which ones are re-runs. My two suggestions are

1- to show all teh scheduled recording in the scheduled recording instead of just adding them 3 days in advance.

2- Have more options in first run/rerun. Such as allowing scheduling of a show on all channels/a certian channel as well as allowing the user to record a particular show only at a certian time (i.e. thursday a 8 pm) or at any time.

That way I would be able to make sure that Sage records the shows that I want without filling up my HD with re-runs because of poor scheduling info from zapit... Thanks again.

First off, I agree with your desire for more control over favorites. In the short term, to address something of the scheduling issues you discussed, I have used the Search function. This function does save searches as "recent searches" which expedites running the search. In this way, you can see programming for 2 weeks, idenitify any first/rerun issues.
