sage recordings and to be recorded - gone - help. please
The last 2 mornings when I turned on the TV, Sage had shut down. Both mornings...(Closed...)
I noticed that the "to be recorded" section at the bottom was empty. I clicked on Sage recordings and it was also empty. I checked the directory through "my computer" and the recorded show files are all still there. I also checked in "setup" to make sure that the recordings directory was set to the same place as always..and it was. I recorded another show and it shows up fine in the sage recordings, just not the 15 shows that were recorded before yesterday. So, why can't sage find the shows and why is the "to be recorded" blank? I am using 6.1.8.. Thanks, Gray Elli |

Can you see anything in your guide?

I see everything like normal in the program guide...
I also manually set up a show to record and it did and shows up in the sage recordings.. Just not the old ones... Gary Ellis |

Did the system crash at some point? Or, did this happen after installing a new version?
If it wasn't simply installed to a different directory, it sounds like the old wiz.bin was corrupted for some reason, causing it to start a new database. If you have a backup copy of wiz.bin from before this happened, try reverting to that file after shutting SageTV down completely. - Andy

Sage seemed to have lost focus (if that makes sense), because I had walked away from the TV and when I came back, the "remote control" screen was on...which sometimes happens, when my wife presses buttons...
So, honestly I don't know... I do not have a back up Wiz.bin file... can I just install 6.1.19 now over my 6.1.18? and would that replace the wiz.bin file ...or do I just need to start from scratch? I do have an old wiz.bin from prior version before 6.1.18..(I think...) I installed 6.1.18 a couple of weeks ago.. Gary Ellis |

Oh, and if you revert your wiz.bin, you may need to clear the property lines mentioned in this FAQ or else the EPG data may not update correctly. You can install an upgrade over the top of the previous version. It will keep your current settings (properties) and database (wiz.bin) files. - Andy

Thanks for the help...
was just easier to go in and reset up my Favorites...and I moved all the recordings to imported directories... I don't know what else could have messed up in the Wiz.bin file..I guess we'll see.. I plan to upgrade to 6.1.19..so, maybe that will help, to.. Thanks, again... Gary Ellis |
