Audio Only Transcoder Quality
I've searched the forums a bit and didn't find an answer straight away. I just got an MVP. Most of my music collection is in AAC format. I have the Media Extender Quality set to High. But I'm curious what bitrate it converts audio to and if there is a way to manually set it? I know I'll have to wait for the HD extender to support direct playback of AAC audio but I just wanted to make it as tollerable as possible until that time. Thanks.

Anyone?
I did some poking through the properties file for my server and noticed some entries for the transcoder section. There are three entries for audio though. 96kb, 128kb and 256kb. I just wonder which setting it's using when I play my AAC files. I would like it to use the the best quality possible. Simply decoding the file to PCM rather than recompressing it would be preferrable. Uncompressed PCM isn't that large. So, any ideas or guides to how I can configure those transcoder settings to my liking? |
