SageTv support for Conexant 2388X video capture?
My trial version (1.4.10) of SageTv always places my Conexant 23883 video capture device ( MSI TV@nywhere Master using Intervideo) as an ignored encoder, and inserts ATI Rage Theatre Video Capture (AIW 7500 Radeon) as my default decoder.
Even though the setup wizard completes configuration, the ATI software capture will not work with SageTv as documented by Frey on their website. However, since I can't stop SageTv from ignoring the Conexant hardware encoder onboard, I have no way to try it. I have tried to change/delete the encoder from the allowed and ignored list inside of the properties and properties backup without success. The setup wizard never allows me to choose the Conexant CX2883 video capture device. I've just downloaded the trial of SS and it recognizes and allows me to use both my ATI and Conexant capture devices. Do, I have any hope at configuring SageTv to work with either of my capture devices or is SS my only PVR choice at this time? |

Although I can't be sure, the Conexant chipset you mention is not specified as being compatable on the requirements page:
http://www.freytechnologies.com/requirements.html I am sure someone else will chime in, but that is probably the reason it is 'ignoring' it. SS and Snapstream will work (with varying degrees of success) with more cards, particularly those that do not support hardware encoding. |

The MSI TV@nywhere isn't a hardware encoder so, no, it won't work with Sage.
