Recording sound via sound card
Is there a way how to record a sound via soundcard?
Currently I use PVR-500 with an additional S-video input. The sound signal is plugged into the card in standard stereo form. I also have SoundBlaster Extigy external USB card that I use to play back my recordings. This card is connected via fiber to my receiver. The card is also capable of processing fiber input. When recording a signal from my cable box with the current setup, I am loosing 5.1 sound (probably due to recording it via standard stereo input of the HVR-1600). Question: Is there a way how to record the sound from the sound card input? Any additional HW that would be required to do that? Thanks Frank
