Component video input card?

I've searched the forums somewhat but haven't been able to find anything on this. I have a DirecTV receiver that has component digital out video (not HD) which is arguably better than SVID. I'd like to route the component video through the HTPC so that I can get the best possible signal, etc...

so far I've only seen the PMSVideo PDI cards that are now being used with the Xcard for DVD playback but I'm not clear as to those cards being able to be used by sage to do PVR. Has anyone tried this? I know the 250 & 350 Hauppage cards are popular, but they go as far as Svideo only...

Thanks
LarryFlint

That (nor the Holo3D I/II ) won't work with Sage since they don't have hardware encoders on them. As far as component/s-vid the big advantage comes when going from 480i to 480p/1080i. Since you're only getting 480i out of the DTV box you won't loose much by going to s-vid, and the PQ from the 250 is awesome as is so I wouldn't worry about it.

Well, I kind of thought it would be difficult anyway, thanks. I guess I´m nitpicky about PQ and I do get to see the diference between Svid & Component, and more to the matter if I'm projecting to a large screen.

Thanks,
LarryFlint
