Safe to move recordings while Sage is running?

Hello. I need to move all my recordings on one drive, to another. (E: to G I am just wondering if it is safe to do so while Sage is still running, because it is going to take quite some time for this to finish...

My guess would be no...

There is a thread that talks about this.. I can't remember where I saw it.. It might be in the FAQ somewhere..

Some points that I always do...

Make sure that the directory on the g: drive is already in your recording directory list even if it's empty.

BACKUP YOUR WIZ.BIN and properties file.

Shutdown Sage completly (not just sleep)

Move a couple files over (Don't copy - or at least make sure that they aren't in both rocording directories at the same time.). Restart Sage. See if they are there...

If that works you can be more bold and move more files.

I've always had issues when I'm trying to move files and Sage is still running.

Someone else Might be able to give better advice...but this is what I do.

Jim

Well, I guess I like to life dangeriously. I moved them while the server was still running, and everything went smoothly, as far as I can tell. The FAQ does say to shutdown the server first though...
