Cheap Plextor PX-TV100U

Just a heads-up that Newegg.com is selling the USB tuner from Plextor at $39.99 plus shipping, with a $30 rebate. Anybody need another tuner for $16?

Please be aware that this is a software encoder. Your cpu will be doing most the work. The equivilant model with a hardware decoder is the PX-TV402U However, buy the thing on Newegg for $40 and use the rebate on Plextors site (which only excludes Fry's) to have them pay you $10 bucks for sending you the tuner.

Here's the rebate form. (slow loading pdf). Here's their promotions page. You can find a link to the rebate there as well.

I may be interpretting this all wrong, but thought I would post just the same.

I didnt see this plextor unit on newegg, I only saw the TV100U listed there. On newegg that 100U is the only plextor unit for sale under TV tuners.

I can't make heads of your sentence man, sorry.

Here's the PX-TV100U on Newegg for $40 and the link to the rebate I posted above is the same model for $50.

Yeah I had some problems reading that sentence too. What I thought you were saying was that the hardware encoder version was going for $40 on newegg. Sorry for my verbal diarrhea.
