Playback OSD display

When I'm watching a recorded tv show or video, is there a way to make the OSD playback meter remain on the display while I'm fast forwarding? I find that when I fast forward, it comes up, but then disappears so I don't know where I am in the video.

Thanks

What STV are you using? In the default STV, there is an option in Detailed Setup -> Customize -> OSD AutoHide to control how long the OSD stays on. But, the OSD display timer should reset every time you use FF.

I'm not exactly sure of all the sage terminology or what an STV is, but I'm using SageMC 16x9 if that's what you're after.

An STV is the sageTV interface. You are using the SageMC 16x9 STV. The default one that ships is also a STV.

I also use MC and don't experience this problem, so it has something to do with your current setup or configuration of MC.

I changed the timeout on the OSD to 12 seconds and that seems to be a little better. But, is the OSD supposed to show if I am fast forwarding? It doens't show all the time.

My SageMC doesn't so much fast forward as skip forward and back in differing increments. Do you have an additonal plugin for fastforwarding or am I missing something? I tried a plugin for smooth fast forward a while ago but couldn't get it to work and gave up on it.

Mick.

No, I don't have an additional plugin. It may very well skip, but I was just calling it fast forward. I'll check today to see if it fast forwards smoothly or skips.
