v6 and Divx

I convert all of my recordings to divx using the divx converter. Since upgrading to version 6 of sageTV, i have had nothing but problems with getting sage to playback these videos.

MPlayer can play them fine, divx player plays them fine, but sage does not.

I have had to unassociate the .divx extension, just to get sage to stop minimizing to the taskbar everytime I try to play a .divx file.

Doing that, and uninstalling divx, has 'fixed' the problem on one client, but not on another.

I have two questions concerning this:

1) Is there another solution that will let sagetv play a divx file, and
2) Why has sageTV not addressed this issue? divx is a pretty popular format, and I have seen several posts on the forums about this. So why no update? I have heard of issues with other mpeg4 formats as well.

Can you make the divx output to the .avi extension? Try and rename a .divx file to .avi. I think that should work.
