Network encoder question
I have three capture cards and I'm starting to get a fair number of conflicts due to adding padding to the shows I'm recording. I know I can use the remove padding on back to back favorites to solve the conflicts but then I miss part of the show. So I was thinking of adding another tuner. But the PCI slots in my HTPC are full and I dont want to add a external USB tuner because of the clutter.
I was thinking of adding another tuner in another PC and using it as a network encoder. The problem is that this other PC is turned off most of the time so the encoder will be unavailable. I would only turn it on in the case of a conflict. Can Sage deal with this fact and not schedure any shows to record using the tuner in the other PC unless I tell it to? |

As an example, here is another option: PCI Expansion Chassis .
I use something like this with no problems.
