Remote not working
Hi,
I just receieved my bundle with SageTV and the PVR250 card. For about the first week everything was working fine, but now the remote will not work. The remote itself is sending a signal, because I can learn it to a learning remote I have. I've tried unplugging the receiver and pluging it back in. I also unistalled the Remote software and reinstalled it. Still no response. I also tried using Notepad with a file called debug.txt, but luck there either. The rest of the card is still working fine. Any thoughts on something else to try? If not, how do I go about exchanging it for a new card? I've got to have a remote! |

On mine, the plug for the IR receiver is not centered on the card and thus the case prevents the plug from sitting flush. If it comes out just a little, I loose connection and nothing gets received.
As for debug.txt, make sure that that's an actual entry in the programs listing. I seem to recall that though the [debug.txt] section exists, that it's not included in the list of programs.

Well, son of a gun. I unplugged and plugged it back in once before, but this time I pressed a little harder and viola! It is working again.
Thanks! |

Yea, the wonder of crappy engineering.. The only solution I can think of would be to file out a section of the case to not block the plug.. But metal filings and electronics don't mix..
