Vista PVR-USB2 Remote Configuration

My Sage machine has been running like an appliance since 2003 and lately a partition on my boot drive has deteriorated and should be replaced. Rather than put any more work in that old machine, I decided to get a new duo-core notebook in an effort to reduce the size, noise and power consumption.

- HP pavillion dv9260, T7200, Vista Ultimate with MCE
- WD My Book 1TB external Raid 0
- 2 PVR-USB2 tuners, Hauppauge 885 ExpressCard HD tuner
- Sony Bravia KDL32S2010

Sage 2.2.7 wouldn't run (guess it is time to upgrade so I downloaded 6.x. I was immediately impressed. It recognized the new HD card and seemed to handle recording on all three cards while viewing another recording (hd) with no problem at all. So it is time to migrate to the new box.

Now on to the first of probably many questions.

The HP came with the USB MCE IR receiver/blaster that works fine with MCE. The PVR-USB2 came with another USB IR receiver/blaster that I am currently using with the 45 button remote. I want to use the same Phillips universal remote that I have been using with the old system. I don't need the blaster functions as I am currently using the tuners for cable and OTA. What do I need to do?

My searches so far have revealed drivers and instructions for the IR receivers that plug into the back of the PVR-USB2 units. Both the Hauppauge and MCE IR receivers look pretty much the same as my old USB-UIRT and I am confused.

Any suggestions are certainly appreciated.

thanx -gary-
