FF/REW Troubles with HD

I seem to be having trouble with skipping on HD content. Sometimes when I skip forward it actually skips backward. The position marker moves forward. Sometimes I'm not sure where I've ended up.

Using Nvidia Purevideo Decoder for video and AC3 for audio.

I'm having the same problems. Actually I've only noticed it with Heroes episodes, but it has happened on the last couple.

Also using Purevideo for decoding.

Tried defragmenting my hard drive, but this didn't help.

HD Format Specific???

I'm not sure what shows this happens on - seems like American Idol was one of them. I just checked Star Wars - I think it's 1080i (I'm not sure how to tell the difference between 1080i and 1080p - dimensions are 1280x1088 according to WMP).

Anybody Else?

Has anyone else had this problem? Does V6 correct this? Is it an issue with PureVideo?

I've seen the same thing with v6 though I haven't taken the time to report it.

I am seeing the exact same thing and the WAF indicator is taking a big hit. Actually, my wife thought Sage was unnecessary at first, but now it is so integral to our entertainment (movie server, no commercials, HDHomeRun), that she is getting very frustrated when watching HD content.

I also use PureVideo and FDShow on sage 6-19. The problem only happens on HD content. With the skip forward and back each set to 10 seconds, I cannot reliably skip around. Skip forward and sometimes it will be 10s, sometimes more, sometimes backward. I end up having to watch commercials sometimes because I cannot skip manually. In fact sometimes the skip forward and backward will each take you to different spots. I.e. hit there and alternate between FF and BW and even though the timebar will increment or decrement by exactly 10seconds, you will be at different spots in the show.

Most bizarre.

Graph Change

I changed my graph to include NVIDIA's TS INFO PARSER in the middle of the chain (Motorola Tuner->Nvidia TS Info Parser->Dump.ts) a few days ago. It seems to have helped at least somewhat, but I can't be sure yet. It at least seems like it doesn't skip backwards when you trying to go forward or vice versa. It seems like the file is 'Chapterized'. I was testing it the other night and if I skipped backwards (mine's set to 5 seconds) it seemed to go back to the same exact spot in the movie every time instead of the exact 5 seconds. The spot did seem to be within the confines of a 5 second period.

Perhaps someone else can try this graph too and test it more thoroughly - I don't have that many HD channels (sadly).
