Show Sharing between owned servers w/o PS
One thing I miss from my replay days is poopli where I could share shows between people. AKA, If I missed an epsiode of something, I could go on poopli and by the morning I would have the show.
I Was wondering if there is or ever will be a chance of something similar coming our way, Maybe so genius thrid party sage developer..... Last edited by traker1001; 02-09-2007 at 08:41 PM. |

The reason that you won't see the sharing of recorded TV shows on this forum is that TV shows are copyrighted, and this forum won't facilitate the sharing of copyrighted material, per forum rule #4.

I think that falls under the realm of "copyright infringement" and therefore won't be supported.

Oh perish the thought...
Technically, Just recording the show in the first place is copyright infringment, Not to mention removing the adds, Sage is all about the infringments of copyrights, Maybe people need to stop asking how to archive shows. So let me change the subject, I would like to see a feature in sage that will let me send a show recorded on one sage server another sage server in another house of mine, Without having to VPN or do anything outside of sage. Something like placeshifter but that will actually send the whole show instead of streaming it. Last edited by traker1001; 02-09-2007 at 08:23 PM. |

No, the Sony Betamax decision (Supreme Court if I remember correctly) made the recording allowable - no copyright violation.
Sage (the company and the software) doesn't perform ANY kind of 'add removal' - that is done by third party software ONLY. Sorry, Sage ain't all about "infringement of copyrights". You might wish to rethink your statements. As for the remainder of your comment, Sage does make Studio available so you could roll your own if you really want that feature badly enough. -PGPfan

You've already made clear the point of your customization request, but appear to now want to change the description of how to achieve the same thing, so I will now close this thread. - Andy
