Could you export the data in binary form such that only SageTV could show it? I would like to export program with EPG data to a removable disk, then at a later date import it back for viewing and still have the EPG data. Is there any this can currently be done?

Currently, I am moving the files to a removable disk and then replacing the original with a 30 second dummy program just as a placeholder. I would really like to get rid of the placeholders.
Is this a safe way to keey the EPG data available?
