Setting for hardware encoder?
Hello,
Is there a setting or anything that needs to be done to ensure that SageTV uses the hardware encoder on the Hauppauge 250 opposed to some default software solution? What about for decoding? I just want to ensure I have set up my system as resource efficient as possible. Thank you. |

The Hauppauge PVR-250 is a hardware encoder. If you are using it with SageTV, it is doing hardware encoding; no special setting required.
Decoding is handled by the decoder settings, which may depend on which type of SageTV client you are using. The 250 has no decoder. - Andy
