Files in errant directory
I'm having a problem with my SageTV install concerning the errant directory. The problem is that SageTV keeps putting files in this folder for apparently no reason.
My SageTV install does not crash, my wiz.bin file is not corrupt and I haven't noticed any stability problems with my computer (random rebooting, etc). Also my SageTV recordings are on a dedicated hard drive which no other program writes too. I leave SageTV running 7x24 (it is either sleeping or active but I never close it down completely). Given all of the above, why would SageTV ever create any entries whatsoever in the errant directory? I've wiped that directory clean a couple of times, and sure enough, if I check it a week later, it's got files in there again. Most of the files in the errant directory appear to be shows that I've marked as favourites. Non-coincidentally, I've noticed that SageTV sometimes "misses" recording some of my favourites (and yes I know about SageTV not recording episodes that have been watched before, or sometimes delaying recording of a favourite to a different channel at a different timeslot). What I haven't conclusively proven is that the shows that SageTV "misses" are those that show up in the errant directory. The only thing that I do that may have some bearing on the problem are intended shutdowns of my computer. Every so often I install updated drivers, windows updates, etc which require a reboot. I do not exit SageTV before rebooting since I presume that SageTV handles shutdown requests from Windows properly and will exit gracefully without any sideeffects. Does Sage not handle Windows shutdowns/restarts properly? Should I be manually exiting SageTV before a shutdown? I'm using the latest released version (1.4.10). Does anyone have a clue why I could be getting shows in the errant directory? Thanks Lester
