Handling the Superbowl

Well, I did it! I was able to easily take my Superbowl recording and rid it of all that nasty football content so that we could watch all the important commercials! After letting DirMon2+ShowAnalyzer+ComSkip Plugin do its magic, I simply opened BobPhoenix's Video Editor, loaded the Superbowl recording, and added a single cut mark at the "start" of the recording thus "inverting" all of the cut marks. I re-saved the cut mark files, and now, when we watch the Superbowl, we get to see all the wonderful commercials without being distracted by all that football stuff!

(Hey, when you're from Chicago, you have to do something to give the recording some worth!)

I really like the "Are you sure you want to delete?" feature, worked like a charm.

I did that last year for my Mom. I had recorded the Superbowl and then commercial scanned it. Then in VideoReDO, I inverted the commercial cut list and then saved the resulting commercial-only video file for her to watch

I did it manually, but the same as you all.

That's the first 37GB file I've ever had!

And upon further review....

...we were not really impressed with the commercials this year. Maybe our standards have changed, or maybe the commercials are just less appealing to us, I don't know. But that Blockbuster "mouse" commercial was very, very funny!

There was a game?

Funny thing, I have this great big empty spot in my brain from about 6:00pm CHICAGO time till about 9:30. Can't remember a thing.

But for some strange reason, I keep having this strange dream of Rex Grossman throwing footballs at me. Of course, they're not coming anywhere near me. In fact, I'm not sure, but somehow he seems to be able to throw them behind him while moving his arms forward.

I think I may need therapy....

Yeah, I thought the BB "mouse" commercial was great. Also liked the Sierra Mist commercials, with the beard combover and the Karate guy. I think there was one other one that I liked, but I can't remember what it was for. It was about the whole closed fist bump was out, and now slapping people on the back of the head was the thing to do. Rather funny.

After about a total of 3 hours of flipping through the "game," I finally found that the commercials weren't all that funny, and gave up. (I needed the 37GB back!)

I thought the best one was the Bud Light "Rock, paper, scissors" one.

"But I threw paper."

*shrug*

"I threw a rock."

Funny stuff!

We also thought that was the funniest commercial. All the rest were no better than your everyday commercial IMO.

Probably cost them most of the commercial budget just to air the spot. Nothing left to put into a "quality" skit. What was it... $2.6M for 30sec? sheesh.
