Free Upgrades from what to what?

Howdy,

I bought SageTV a while back during the 2.x stages. I don't use many of the fancy features so I never bothered with any of the upgrades since then. But I'm setting up a new PC to put Sage on to replace my old one and figured I might as well put on a more current version.

I thought back then there were free upgrades to 1 or 2 of the versions but I'm not positive about that.

So my question is, what version can I use that will take my License Key I got originally for version 2.x? Or do I have to install my original software and then upgrade to a certain version? Or can I just use version 2 and any free upgrades were just a figment of my imagination?

Your key should work with any version up thru 5.x. The upgrade to v6 requires purchase of an upgrade key. HTH

If you purchased a v5 key, then v6 is a free upgrade. I'm pretty sure your existing key should just work. If you bought v5 from pcalchemy, I think there was a screw up where they mistakenly distributed v4 keys. If you are affected by this, contact pcalchemy to have it corrected. Hopefully I got all my facts straight.

Yeah actually I did get my key from PC Alchemy. And when I tried installing V6 earlier it popped up with some kind of warning about needing a upgrade key.
