non-linear stretch?

Currentlky, when watching 4:3 regular NTSC TV on my widescreen TV, I change the display resolution to 480p because my Sharp 55" HDTV has a great "Smart stretch" which only works with 480i or 480p input. This is a non-linear stretch where people don't look short and fat. I can't really tell it's stretched.

However, I'd like to use a higher display resolution because the picture looks somewhat better.

Anybody know how to set Sage up to do a non-linear stretch? I hear there is a DScaler filter that will do a non-liner stretch. Has anyone set Sage up to use that filter?

Also, I hear that WINDVD5 will do a non-linear stretch. Has anyone set Sage up to use their decoder filters and got a successful non-linear stretch?

Any other way to do it?

Your help is appreciated.

Bob
