Actually, I kinda meant what I said about it being a rumor. I dont know for sure if it's going to be included. If it does, my guess is it will have builtin support for setups that already have the loopback hack or capable of it.

I honestly never really cared for the loopback hack in the past because it's really not feasible to have to go to the sageTV guide and look for the loopback channel, then having to go into the TV menu, then pressing "Watch", then going back to the Slimplayer radio menu. But, if it were invisble to the user on the extender, then I would think it's just as good as radio "direct" to the extender.

I would like to verify that I have everything functioning that everyone else does. Music wise I have the Slim Player working and playing favorites.
I am able to navigate using the arrow keys.
However The only thing that shows up in the bottom left hand corner is the name of the song. I do not see the Artist's name or any graphics. If I play music from the web interface of squeezecenter I do see the album art change as well as the artist info. Am I getting everything on the Slim Player Plugin Page that everyone else is or do I still need to tweak until I can get Artist and Album graphics?

The attached files should fix the problem with the artist picture not showing up. This is a temporary fix until the next release of slimplayer.

Just replace the files that you currently have with the ones in included in the zip file.

Exclamation Slimplayer/Softsqueeze Internet Radio audio bug fix

Some of you might have weird audio issues with slimplayer/softqueeze when playing back Internet radio; such as, audio not working until you press play multiple times or audio flip-floping back and forth between two different audio streams. You can download the fix with the instructions below:

Download from below link:
Softsqueeze3.8-Prerelease.zip

Instructions:

Unzip files into the following folder:
C:\Program Files\SqueezeCenter\server\HTML\EN\html\softsqueeze

and..

replace Softsqueeze.jar that's in your sageTV JARs folder with the one thats in this zip file.

I'll also post this on the non-sageMC Slimplayer forum thread...

I extracted two files from the the zip file. "Slimplayer.jar" and "Slimplayer-ai.xml" I assumed the Slimplayer.jar file went in the SageTV Jar folder. However I didn't have a Slimplayer-ai.xml file so I wasn't sure where it was suppose to go.

It sounds like youre using an old version of slimplayer. You can download it from the sageTV downloads section. Just use all the files except for the stvi file specific to the non-sagemc version.

To everyone out there interested in slim player.
I'm currently working on the next release.
new features:
- artist info - multiple photo's (slide show)
- artist news - ticker tape showing latest news on playing artist
- new artist news page with all items and ability to read full story
- link to youtube video's (search by artist name currently playing in slim player)
- loopback channel support option - synchronous playback of slim player audio and Sage media player loopback channel gives ability to listen to slim player on extenders.

Currently finished features: all, but the loopback channel support.

I'm aiming for full release within two weeks.

- Chris

Hopefully not too far off topic - are you using the new architecture? or more to my hope, can I use the controller from the Duet to also control the slimplayer software running in Sage?

I dont know since I dont have a Duet. However, an easy way to find out is...

If it works on Squeezebox Classic sold here or works on softsqueeze, then it will work in Slimplayer. Softsqueeze/slimplayer is basically the software version of Squeezebox Classic.

MKANet.

I loaded Squeeze Center and Softsqueeze and they work fine. I imported the xml file, but do not see the slimplayer sub-menu item. When I try to navigate to the music folder, Sage hangs..

sagemc/ui/controls_font_face=Arial
sagemc/ui/controls_font_size=19
sagemc/ui/controls_font_style=Bold

Any Suggestions?

Well for one thing, its not in the music folder, so if it hangs when you go to music, then you have a problem with sageTV. I think it should show up under Online Services. You can also load it via dynamic menus if you have dynamic menus loaded. You can probably follow the directions of installing the xml file in the first post... let me know if you have any luck...

I rebooted the server and added a custom menu item. I was then getting an error that softsqueeze.jar was missing from the JAR folder. I added it and stopped and restarted sage. I can now navigate and play slacker.
Thanks!

Thanks Chris, it looks very nice. Is there an ETA on the SageMC version? I know Morgan has been pretty busy so if he's the one making it it could be a while.

It Morgan that will be making it. Chris already sent Morgan an email. It looks like its all up to Morgan when we will have the sageMC version.

I have read most of this thread, but I can't seem to get it to work anymore. I am using the 7.3.2 Slimcenter on Vista, set the registry key, tried all of the different JAR files, and so on. I can run the Slim player, browse through different options such as local music, Internet stations, and everything looks like it is correct. However, it won't play an Internet radio stream. It says "connecting" and eventually gives ??? like I saw in a previous post. I am trying this on an HD200 extender which I think should work if I read the previous posts correctly. What I don't know for sure is will the 7.3.2 Slimcenter work with the player? Maybe the new version will solve most of my problems. Thanks a lot.

Edit: Try this version of SC 7.2.1 (I think this is the best and most stable version)

http://downloads.slimdevices.com/Squ...nter-7.2.1.exe

Also, download Softsqueeze 2.9 from here:
http://homepage.eircom.net/~altondsl/slim/SoftSqueeze39b1.zip

Instructions:
Unzip files into the following folder:
C:\Program Files\SqueezeCenter\server\HTML\EN\html\softsqueeze

and..
replace Softsqueeze.jar that's in your sageTV JARs folder with the one thats in this zip file.

Let me know if that works...

Thanks much for the help, but that didn't seem to fix me up. It's probably Vista! Anyway, I go to play a Shoutcast stream and I can browse all of them, but when I go to play it says "Checking Stream..." then "Connecting..." and that is it, until the ? marks show up again. I'll have to try a few other things and look at some log files.

It's not Vista. It works great for me under Vista. Actually, what you need to do is get Softsqueeze to work first. You can install softsqueeze by going inside the SC settings under "player" and install it there. Once softsqueeze works, Slimplayer will work. If softsqueeze still have the same problem connecting, you can try one more thing below. If the below suggestion doesnt work, I would post a question in the Squeezebox Community Forum under 3rd Party Plugins.

Try this:
While you have softsqueeze or slimplayer open, go into the SC 7.2.1 settings/player/audio/ select mp3 streaming method to the one you are not using. If its "direct streaming", change it to "proxied streaming" or visa versa.

If its not that, the only other thing it can be is your firewall not allowing internet radio streams to come through.
