hello
when i try to `use tvtv services guide data with this source` (on a pvr350), i only get "there was an error connecting to the tvtv services server. bla bla" after i enter my login and password (signed up for a subsription).
in the log file, i get the following entries for each time i try to connect:

so, whats wrong? i can connect fine to the net from this box...

with a packet analyzer, i do not see that any dns request nor connection is initialized to any host from when i enter the username until the error occurs...

i had the same problem and asked support. The answer was that tvtv service is in Linux version not supported.

well, how am i supposed to get EPG data into sagetv? i live in europe

hi,

you can get epg data via xmltv (search in google, you will find binaries and source code if you want to compile by yourself). to get it into sagetv you can try the xmltvimport plugin. do a search here on the board and you will find a lot of information

as i have made a tvtv subscription, based on the feature list of sagetv, i do want to use tvtv because it is the only service that has all channels of my location (beside the xmltv grabbers are 50% of the time broken for my location).

for my understanding, sagetv would just need to compile the libraries of tvtvdlcl and dlcllib.
in my opinion, this is a missing feature, nowhere declared as unaviable for linux.

i do understand that there is no support at all for linux, but based on the feature list, i have decided to buy sagetv and a tvtv subscription, only to figure out, for the lack of a trial/demo that this key feature is not working.

if i wanted to use xmltv (which has no tvt support), id just have used mythtv
