Other programs problems....

hello all,

I have sagetv 6.19 and sagemc 6.31. I am setting it up and tweaking it. I am having some problems with Other Programs. I want to link to a batch file that will put my computer into hibernation. I created the batch file (suspend.bat). Then I created a shortcut and put it into C:\sageOthers folder. When I am in SageMC, I go to the Other Programs page, I see: Shortcut to suspend.bat. I click on it and the following happens in fullscreen: sagemc goes to screen saver and then a window pops up showing the contents of C:\sageOthers. However, it does not activate the batch file.

I have tried several shortcuts but the end result is the same.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

What kind of window ? A Windows File Explorer window, a file selection dialog ? Can you generate a debug log file while this happens and post it here ?

It's a windows file explorer window. What is the name of the debug log?

Thanks very much!

Hmm, that makes me think that the link might not be correct. How did you create it ?

sagetvclient_0.txt (if using client)

If you have debug logging disabled, see the link in my signature for how to enable it.

here ya go!

here is the log file. I recreated the incident both in full screen and not full screen.

To create the shortcut, I rightclicked on the batch file and chose create shortcut, which I dragged into the sageothers folder....

Thanks again flach!

Hello flach,

I took a look at the log file. I think it lies somewhere in this since these are the events that take place before Sage goes to sleep. I just can't make sense of it. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Nah, everything in the log seems to be normal... Can you try the following:

- open a cmd window and change to your Other Programs directory
- execute "cmd /c start NAME_OF_LINK.lnk

Does this start your batch file ?

the link to the shortcut works no problem.

I am wondering if i should reinstall sagemc again. I cant seem to find anyone else who has this problem when I search the forums.
