motorola QIP 2500-2

I'm using FIOS with USB-IRT to change channels on a Motorola QIP 2500-2 box. Sometimes the channels don't change correctly; e.g. channel 190 ends up tuning channel 90.

Anyone else have this problem? I think it may be a problem with the location/positioning of the USB-IRT. Where is the "eye" located on the QIP 2500?

Any other suggestions?
