Setup my VBOX-150!!!!

I just installed a VBOX-150, and when I was going through the configuration, I set it up to be over-the-air, and when trying to specify my location, I noticed that my state (RI) was not listed. I'm a little confused, am I supposed to use Boston?

I setup it as boston, but I can't get a signal on anything. I have a medium bi-directional antenna, and I am 20 miles from the station.

Maybe, I'll hook the antenna up to the TV directly make sure I can get a signal.

Another thing is, if ABC is channel 6, would it also be channel 6 in HD. COX has it setup so that the HD channel is 700.

Any help would be appreciated, because I have no idea!

If you have a HDTV, that would help. Do a channel scan and see if you get any channels at all.

Nope, digital channels will be a little different than your old analog channels. The digital channels have a primary channel and a subchannel, such as 6-1, 6-2, 6-3, etc. Each subchannel can be separate programming.

Right now, since for you ABC is on Channel 6, ABC may be broadcasting the digital channels on channel 66(-1,-2,etc) for now. But even if they are broadcasting on 66, I think they may be able to remap 66-1 to show up as 6-1, I'm not sure about that, but I think so. And once the analog stream is turned off, I think that the channel mappings will be fixed so that ABC will be back on 6 if it was on 66. Right now HD is a pain since we are in a transition period.

If Boston is the area that contains the stations you want then Boston is your location to use. I live in Moberly MO but I use Columbia-Jefferson City MO as mine since that is where my stations come from, well that area anyhow.

You'll see what your channels are once you do the channel scan, set up your card and then scan for the channels you can pickup.
