Couple Questions before I try.

Now that I have SageTV running smoothly and am comfortable with it, I been thinking about trying both SageMC and Meekell.

Questions:

1. Can either be easily uninstalled without losing show info or anything if I decide to go back to standard Sage?

2. I ran through the meekell thread and to crashless's website and didn't see mention of com detection, is it possible in meekell?

Edit: Answer yes. I have read to many threads the last two days.

3. On either, will video display in the background when menus are displayed? It seems in from the screenshots that it displays in a window.

Yes, you can easily switch back to the default STV if you don't like it. The only problem right now would occur if you import IMDB or DVD Profiler show info in SageMC, and then go back to the default STV - the default STV changed its usage of the show metadata in Version 6.0, and imported info from SageMC would lack the title when viewed in the default STV. If this is a concern, please wait a couple of days, the next SageMC version will be 100% compatible to the standard STV again

Yes you can view video in the background. But please note that SageMC is really designed for viewing video in a preview window in the menus, so the UI doesn't look very pretty with the background setting ...

Neither would concern me for now.

I could see how it seems to be set up for video preview, although the background is not bad at all, the info in the guide can be hard to read but all is well.

The whole change over was really a painless operation. Had them up and running with Com detection in no time. I tried both just to check out the UI, and am giving a MC a trial run now. Really like it.

And if you are trying out 6.3.2, the first issue is gone anyway
