Thumbs up Server upgrade!

I scored a free P4 3.0 w/ HT last week, so I bought an Intel 865PERL motherboard with all the bells and whistles to upgrade my server. I was running an Athlon 1.1, which was brutally slow with SageTV.

With the new board and CPU, SageTV is flying! The client menus are much faster without random long pauses, and Placeshifter now looks amazingly good. All I need to do now is replace/quiet the stock CPU cooler and clone the OS/webserver drive to a SATA RAID-1 array.

I am seriously considering upgrading my server too- the slower systems don't cut it anymore with Sage going more intensive with their newer versions....due to Java I think........well lets not even talk about the weird pauses between remote signal and actual UI showing anything

Good for you!
