High CPU usage multiple tuners and other issues
I have added 2 PVR-250 tuners to my original PVR-350 tuner. I now notice that whenever I attempt to record a program it takes SageTV several minutes with 91% - 97% percent CPU usage to start recording. The case that I timed I selected 3 programs to record at the same time. I was viewing another on the computer during this which probably slowed it a bit. It took Sage TV 14 minutes before it dropped from the high CPU usage to the normal 20% for viewing a program. All 3 of the recorded programs missed the first 5 -6 minutes of the program because it took SageTV so long to schedule them. I selected them about 9 mins before the start time.
Another problem I am encountering is that I no longer have the output from the PVR-350 to my TV. I do see it when using Win2000 but not from SageTV, I even tried removing the 250 tuners using setup wizard from Sage.
The final issue may be a hardware problem but not sure. The recording from the PVR-250 cards is very poor and incomplete compared to the 350. About the bottom 20% of the recordings from the 250 cards seem to be almost like a test pattern of squares like a checkerboard. The rest of the screen is viewable but just barely. All of the cards are recording at DVD Extra Long Play ~ 1.8GB per hr.
I just checked my most recent recordings and the 20% is different from each of the 250 cards but still garbage. The rest of the image appears to have very large blocks instead of pixels. Can just barely see the eyeballs of the actors. The 350 card is still good but a little bit of snow may be a poor connection, I usally do not record this time of day so not sure.
I am using the drivers provided from the shspvr site in hcwl_7_21177_pp2.zip and cd17update_ini.zip. Note: I failed to run the hcw_unregister.bat program and did not check the registry when installing the new drivers. I had been using the most recent drivers from Hauppauge.
Any ideas or suggestions concerning the above problems?
