ATI650 & HDTV usage

As a new SageTV owner I recently set out to find a single card to use to learn the program and setup a simple PVR. I mainly record SD cableTV, but want to experiment with HD OTA reception. My question is about how Sage interfaces with the TV card.

I recently tried 2 cards, both new and (as yet) unsupported by Sage officially. These were the new Hauppauge HVR-1600 and the new ATI 650. Both have separate SD and HD tuners. With the Hauppauge installed SageTV found both the SD and HD tuners as separate devices that I could configure. With the ATI 650 all I see when entering source setup is the SD tuner. Is it possible that the HD is there (in Sage), but the program recognizes it in a different manner? I don't see a way to access/setup the HD tuner. I'm curious about this as I recall seeing some reference in these forums to folks that have used this card in HD mode. I did write to Sage and they indicated that they thought my issue was caused by the fact that the card is not yet supported. But....SageTV recognizes the SD tuner on the ATI card AND Sage does see both tuners on the HVR-1600.

Anyone have any ideas? The Hauppauge card worked fine and the image was decent in SD. However the image on the ATI was, in my view, much better and so I intend to stay with that card.

On a related note: The ATI 650 is supposed to record in Divx, but I cannot find the Divx option in the Sage menus. Sage also said this issue is likely due to the card not being officially supported yet. I'm not doubting guidance from Sage, but am interested if others have different experiences with this.

Thanks much
