-edit Try grabbing a copy of DVDPro2Sage from the download area, I think I forgot to include that in the zip. Last edited by stanger89; 02-21-2007 at 07:27 PM. |

If you go into Setup in the import view, you can browse to it.

Picture 1 is top button for XML path. Can't specify there. Picture 2 seems to have all the buttons but is for the image path? Can you tell me the properties line? Thanks, B |

This past weekend I was playing around with the latest version of My Movies on my mce system when I noticed that it supports importing libraries from dvd profiler.
In order for my movies to associate a movie in dvd profiler's database with the files on a drive, you must add the following tag to the notes field: [ONLINELOCATION="c:\movies\13 Going On 30"] for movies on a server, you can use the unc path: [ONLINELOCATION="\\mediaserver\movies\13 Going On 30"] So, any chance sagemc can take advantage of this field? This will allow users of my movies to easily move between my movies and sage. You can read about it here (scroll down to "importing from dvd profiler"): http://www.mymovies.name/documentati...uickguide.aspx Thanks for putting up with me! I don't know about flachbar, but for me, probably not. I don't really want to go add that to my 350+ DVDs in DVD Profiler, so there's not a whole lot of motivation for me to do it.
Plus, I think updating my stuff for DVD Profiler 3 is probably higher on my priority scale. We'll see, from the parsing side, all that's really necessary is to provide a way to extract the Notes field, which might already be there (I'm not sure off hand). The rest is up to the STV, so I guess that would be flachbar or another enterprising user. |

What needs to be done for dvd profiler 3? Can't it read the old version's database? |

I think the point is that Stanger as the developer has little incentive to make it happen since he wouldn't use the feature.
However, I have a feature request. Would it be possible to manually map a movie if the directory names don't line up with what DVD Profiler puts out? Nothing to fancy just let me scroll a list of all my Profiler movies and pick which one I want to map it to. TIA B |

I didn't realize the xml changed for dvd profiler 3. That makes more sense, now.

Can't get stvi working...
Morning all! Sorry to post here, but I've followed the instructions to the letter and I don't see any difference in my Sage.
1. Shut down Sage (v 6.0.19.120 with stock STV) 2. Backed up wiz.bin 3. Unzipped the import file to my SageTV directory 4. Exported my DVDProfiler collection to SageTV/SageTVcollection.xml (created using DVDProfiler 2.4, NOT 3.0) 4. Restarted Sage 5. Saw nothing different anywhere, no new buttons, no extra data 6. Checked that DVDPro2Sage was in the SageTV directory - it is I'm sure it's something I've done wrong, but I don't know what it might be. Any suggestions before I start tearing apart log files? Thanks! -drin Last edited by drin; 03-30-2007 at 06:25 AM. |

You have to go into Detailed Setup -> Advanced and import the STVi for the update to "take".

I've been using Sage since v 2.0, so I know it pretty well (just to explain that I'm not a noob. I may not know how to TYPE what I did, but I *did* do it). I did actually try the import at the appropriate point. When that didn't work I backed it out by going back to a previous STV and reimporting it. No go. This, by the way, is a new machine built from the ground up with a clean install of XP and SageTV 6.0.19.120. All the other imports I've added from my previous installations are working like champs. What am I doing wrong with this one? Just so I'm clear - once I've added the stvi and restarted I should be able to go to my Media Center->Imported Videos and find a new button on that screen, is that right? There's nothing new there that I can see. <sigh> -drin Last edited by drin; 03-30-2007 at 11:49 AM. |

You probably want to double check the "mlbdude/meta_data_collection.xml=" property and make sure it's pointing to your xml export. I don't remember what the default is.

Hi again. I've finally had a chance to get back to this - still no go. It's not that the collection can't be found. The problem is that the STVi "i" button never appears!
We've turned on console debugging and whenever we try to load the STVi we get the following error: Catbert method lookup failure for: gkusnick_sagetv_studio_STVI_ProcessImport Parsing error: Unexpected "," at column 58 The error ONLY occurs when trying to load IVL 0.7.1. No other STVi's cause this error. Does the import expect the gkusnick Studio tools to be present? I haven't installed them. Thanks! -drin Last edited by drin; 04-16-2007 at 04:18 PM. |

Yeah, it needs them to be present (sorry, I've been away for a while ).
