MCE remote setting causes continuous loop

I recently bought sagetv and I'm having problems with the remote setting. I accidentally clicked the MCE remote setting and now the sagetv app is continuously thinking and consuming 100% of the CPU. I can kill the process but it does the same thing as soon as I start the app again. A total reinstall would more than likely fix the problem but I was wondering if anyone knew how I could change the remote setting back to 'none' without having to do this.

I searched the forum but could not find this particular problem. A link to a previous thread or new solution would be greatly appreciated.

Look in one of the properties files in the Sage directory. (sage.properties or sageclient.properties) and there is probably a setting in there that calls out the MCE remote. Just remove the part after the equals sign and try starting the app again. I'm at work so I can't tell you exactly what it is.

I'm at work too but I will search the properties file when I get home and let you know if it works.

Thanks.

Try clearing this property:

ConfigWiz/Remote=

I don't know whay that would cause a problem when there isn't an MCE remote, so if the problem continues, you can try adding debug logging (in the FAQ thread) or just remote the properties file & its autobackup, then reconfigure everything.

I tried to change the properties file but the app still went straight to thinking as soon as it started. To save myself time I just went ahead and reinstalled.

Thanks for the suggestions.
